Senior Principal Software Engineer (AI Posture)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States of America; most teams work from the office full time

Annual base salary: $183,600–$297,000, with possible restricted stock units and bonus.

What you will do

• Analyze requirements and design security posture-related features in collaboration with Product Line Management.
• Develop highly scalable distributed cloud services using Golang in a GCP environment.
• Manage the full software development lifecycle, including implementation, deployment, release, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with QA and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality features.
• Monitor and provide operational support for cloud-native services, including occasional customer production support.
• Participate in the required on-call rotation and use AI tools and agents to improve engineering productivity.

Requirements

• Strong programming and scripting skills in Golang, Python, or comparable languages.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes; GCP is preferred, while AWS experience is acceptable.
• Hands-on experience developing and operating cloud-based services.
• Experience with observability and operational monitoring, including metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, technical design, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of related experience, Master’s degree with 8+ years, PhD with 5+ years, or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

• Security domain knowledge, including risk assessment and common threat models.
• Networking experience across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Knowledge of security policies, access control models, and configuration profiles.
