Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Annual salary: $143,000–$286,000, plus performance-based bonuses and potential stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead platform engineering initiatives delivering scalable cloud-native infrastructure and reusable tooling.
• Manage the full software development lifecycle, including design, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Architect AI-enhanced applications and intelligent systems for high availability and real-time data processing.
• Define and influence architectural standards while providing technical leadership and mentorship.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable success metrics with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Own solution quality, operational reliability, continuous improvement, and proactive resolution of complex engineering challenges.

Requirements

• Extensive experience leading platform engineering initiatives and delivering scalable, reliable infrastructure.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, high availability, and fault tolerance.
• Strong knowledge of AI/ML integration, software development lifecycle practices, and continuous integration and deployment.
• Proficiency in model-driven design and programming languages including Python, Java, and C++.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 5 years of software engineering experience, or 7 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to provide technical mentorship, influence architecture, solve complex problems, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
