Focus on coordinating commissioning agents and contractors, validating integrated system performance, resolving readiness risks, and delivering complex GPU facility infrastructure for operations.

Location: US; hybrid schedule split between the West Virginia construction site and remote work. On-site presence is required for testing, inspections, coordination meetings, and key milestones. Travel up to 20% for factory witness testing and support of other sites.

Salary: $100,000–$180,000 USD base salary, with potential eligibility for bonus, equity, and/or commission programs.

Company

What you will do

  • Own the commissioning program, including OPR alignment, the Commissioning Plan, the Cx schedule, and integration with the master construction schedule.
  • Lead the third-party Commissioning Agent and coordinate general contractors, MEP trades, OFCI vendors, Design, Construction, Quality, and Data Center Operations.

  • Commission MV/LV electrical systems, UPS, BESS, generators, switchgear, ATS/STS, busway, PDUs/RPPs, chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/fan walls, pumps, CDUs, and direct-to-chip liquid cooling loops.
  • Verify BMS, EPMS, and DCIM point-to-point checks, alarms, sequences, and integrations; manage issues, risks, readiness reporting, and go/no-go recommendations.
  • Lead handover to Operations, including O&M manuals, as-builts, test records, training, warranties, spare parts, lessons learned, and commissioning standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commissioning experience in mission-critical facilities, including at least 2 years leading commissioning on data center or comparable critical-facility projects.
  • Proven experience delivering Level 1–5 commissioning and leading Level 5 IST on a live project.
  • Strong knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical systems, including MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, chilled water, heat rejection, and air handling.
  • Experience managing third-party Commissioning Agents and holding general contractors and trades accountable for schedule and quality.
  • Working knowledge of ASHRAE Guidelines 0 and 1.1, NFPA 70E, NETA ATS, and applicable local electrical and building codes; ability to interpret single-line diagrams, P&IDs, controls sequences, and construction drawings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on field experience; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

  • CxA, CCP, CPMP, PE, or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience with high-density AI/GPU halls, direct-to-chip liquid cooling, CDUs, BESS, on-site generation, or utility substation interconnection.
  • Hyperscale or colocation owner-side experience, or a background in data center operations and critical facilities engineering.
  • Experience with CxAlloy, Facility Grid, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, AutoCAD/Revit viewers, BMS/EPMS/SCADA platforms, and advanced Excel.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on leadership role working across electrical rooms, mechanical yards, rooftops, and data halls.
