Commissioning Engineer (Electrical) - Memphis

Location: Memphis, TN; full-time onsite role with extensive travel to data center construction sites across the United States

What you will do

• Execute commissioning for MV/LV switchgear, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, ATS/STS, transformers, relays, busway, and associated controls.
• Perform pre-functional, functional performance, site acceptance, load-bank, protection-relay, and integrated systems testing.
• Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and process issues during pre-commissioning, startup, and system turnover.
• Develop and review commissioning procedures, scripts, checklists, test records, issue logs, and final reports.
• Coordinate energization, startup sequences, and integrated validation with construction, engineering, EPC contractors, OEM vendors, and operations.
• Support safety briefings, punch-list resolution, constructability reviews, lessons learned, and training for operations and maintenance teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 5+ years of electrical systems commissioning experience.
• Experience with data center or other mission-critical electrical systems and commissioning testing.
• Ability to interpret and redline electrical drawings, one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, and sequences of operation.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, NETA, NESC, and Uptime Institute standards, plus LOTO and OSHA safety practices.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively, remain onsite for extended periods, work extended hours, nights, and weekends, and perform physical work in industrial environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with EPMS, BMS/BAS, Modbus, BACnet, and power-system controls integration.
• Knowledge of refrigerant systems, direct liquid cooling, and advanced heat-rejection technologies.
• Current OSHA 30 certification or equivalent.
• Experience with CxPro, Procore, PlanGrid, or similar commissioning platforms.
• Experience with integrated systems testing, owner’s project requirements verification, and sitewide power-model updates.
