Controls Engineer (Application Programming)

Location: Sidney, Ohio, USA; hybrid schedule with at least three days per week in the office and up to 10% travel, including international travel.

What you will do

• Create, modify, and test compressor control logic using structured text and function block diagram languages.
• Develop applications for compressor testing, data recording, and data analysis.
• Modify and test compressor HMI applications and document control changes in specifications and customer manuals.
• Support application engineers with customer questions, troubleshooting, and field control support.
• Participate in DFMEA reviews and support control hardware selection, testing, and variable frequency drive integration.
• Track issues and feature requests in GitHub while working safely in office and laboratory testing environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in industrial controls, application programming, electronics integration, or a similar field.
• Experience with industrial PLC/DCS programming or languages such as C++ and Python.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not provided.

• Embedded controller programming experience.
• Experience with HVACR or data center applications.

• LabVIEW programming experience.
