Embedded Controls Software Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Milford, Michigan, United States. Hybrid work policy with 3 days in the local office and 2 days remote; must be able to report to the local office.

What you will do

• Produce and deliver embedded controls software for electrification, autonomous, engine, transmission, or chassis systems.
• Design, develop, and implement physics and controls requirements for mechatronic controls and diagnostic strategies.
• Develop controller communication solutions and common software solutions across company-owned software.
• Test and demonstrate software functionality and readiness using automated tools, build environments, benches, and vehicles.
• Verify features at the controller, system, and vehicle levels and document requirements with linked test cases.
• Collaborate in an Agile Scrum team and coordinate with departments within VMEC.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience as a Controls Systems Engineer, Controls Development Engineer, System Performance Engineer, or in a related role.
• At least two years of experience with embedded controls software.
• At least two years of experience with C, C++, auto code generation, MATLAB, Simulink, and Python scripting.
• Must be able to work from and report to the Milford, Michigan office three days per week.
