Underwriting Associate (Property)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Base salary: CAD $60,000–$80,000 per year

What you will do

• Support Property Underwriters and Client Managers with accurate and timely business processing, administrative, technical, and marketing activities.
• Review, update, and maintain account information, records, documentation, and customer data.
• Conduct preliminary deal analysis and prepare account data for Underwriter review.
• Assist with contractual documents, invoices, business correspondence, and preparation for client and broker meetings.
• Coordinate with Underwriting, Products, Finance, Claims, Compliance, Policy Processing, and near-shore or offshore teams.
• Participate in special projects and develop exposure to other insurance lines through cross-training.

Requirements

• Commercial insurance principles and practices are beneficial; entry-level candidates will be considered.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, administrative and clerical procedures, records management, accounting principles, and customer service processes.
• Ability to prioritize, plan, coordinate, and monitor multiple submissions while meeting time and quality standards.
• Strong collaboration, interpersonal, listening, reading, written, and verbal communication skills in a multicultural, matrix environment.
• An associate degree or equivalent is beneficial.
