Senior Manager, Cybersecurity (Defense Tech)

Location: Washington, D.C., United States; Workplace: On-site

Salary: $170,000–$250,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular employees

What you will do

• Own the authorization portfolio for classified systems, including RMF execution, ATO and IATT status, POA&M items, assessment findings, and accreditation roadmaps.
• Represent the organization with Authorizing Officials, Security Control Assessors, government program security officers, and DCSA or SAPCO representatives.
• Define continuous monitoring, vulnerability scanning, STIG and SRG compliance, audit review, configuration drift detection, and security posture metrics.
• Standardize package templates, evidence libraries, hardening baselines, inheritance documentation, and automated compliance pipelines.
• Partner with IT, network, platform, product security, Industrial Security, Facilities, Contracts, program management, and engineering teams on facility and enclave accreditation.
• Lead incident response for classified systems, including containment, spillage and contamination response, government reporting, and corrective action planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, defense systems, mission systems, or military aerospace programs.
• Experience leading cybersecurity activities for complex integrated systems or defense platforms.
• Strong knowledge of RMF, STIGs, system hardening, network security, secure architectures, and vulnerability management.
• Experience across hardware, software, networking, and mission system integration environments.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.

Nice to have

• Experience with military aircraft, UAVs, mission systems, or tactical communication platforms.
• Familiarity with resilient architectures, zero trust, cross-domain solutions, and contested-environment operations.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Background in cybersecurity test events, airworthiness, or platform accreditation.
