Analytics Engineer (AI)

Location: Canada; remote-first work is available, with the majority of roles allowing work from anywhere with an Internet connection.

Base salary: $81,990–$91,100 CAD annually for Canadian residents; ranges may differ in other countries.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain data models and transformation pipelines in Snowflake using dbt.
• Integrate Snowflake Intelligence capabilities such as Cortex Analyst, Cortex Agents, Cortex Search, and AISQL to create conversational queries and AI-driven insights.
• Write advanced SQL and analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and business opportunities.
• Build and optimize Looker dashboards, LookML models, conversational analytics, and data-agent experiences.
• Develop Python, shell, and Airflow-based automation for data processing and recurring workflows.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations while collaborating with product, engineering, business, and senior leadership teams.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in data analytics or a related field, including exposure to AI and machine learning applications.
• Advanced SQL skills and expert-level knowledge of data modeling and data warehouse concepts.
• Hands-on dbt experience, including building, testing, and documenting data models.
• Experience with Snowflake, Looker and LookML, Python, shell scripting, ETL processes, and workflow orchestration.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, Git, CI/CD, Docker, and agile development practices.
• Experience with data governance, data quality, privacy regulations, and translating business needs into technical solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI agents, generative AI, predictive modeling, MLOps, or DataOps.
• Experience with real-time and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Spark Streaming.
• Knowledge of statistics, probability, A/B testing, R, Scala, Julia, or Spark SQL.
• Open-source contributions, data community participation, or relevant cloud and data technology certifications.
