Manager, Data Engineering (AI)

Location: Hybrid for candidates based in the Austin or Atlanta metro area, with three days per week in the office.

Salary: $150,000–$220,000 annual base salary, with possible variable compensation, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, hire, onboard, and develop a team of data engineers.
• Own the technical roadmap and architecture for the Enterprise Data platform built on Snowflake and Airflow.
• Embed AI coding and agentic tools into pipeline development, testing, documentation, and code review.
• Design agent-assisted and autonomous data quality checks, self-healing pipelines, and LLM-powered data products with appropriate guardrails and human review.
• Partner with Analytics, Data Science, Product, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable and governed data products.
• Establish standards for data quality, observability, lineage, cost efficiency, design reviews, incident response, and documentation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of data engineering experience and 3+ years managing or leading data engineering teams.
• Hands-on production experience with Snowflake and Apache Airflow, including performance tuning, cost management, and orchestration at scale.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, with experience reviewing or writing data pipeline code.
• Experience with dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte, or similar modern ELT tools.
• Professional experience using AI coding assistants or agentic tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Snowflake CoCo.
• Knowledge of data modeling, governance, security, compliance, and distributed-team collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic workflows, LLM-driven monitoring, autonomous anomaly detection, RAG-based data catalogs, LangGraph, AutoGen, or MCP-based tooling.
• Background in ehirify.global, SaaS, marketplace data, internal platforms, or self-service tooling.
• Familiarity with cloud data platform cost governance and FinOps practices.
