Backend Data Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote from Ukraine, Poland, Armenia, or Romania

hirify.global is hiring for a long-term project focused on modern data platforms and AI-assisted engineering workflows.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, data models, and backend data infrastructure.
• Develop and optimize transformation workflows with dbt and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.
• Build and manage workflow orchestration for reliable, production-grade data processes.
• Create internal data applications and tooling with Streamlit and similar technologies.
• Translate business and product requirements into practical technical solutions with Data Product Managers.
• Own delivery from design and implementation through deployment and continuous improvement, using modern GenAI development tools where appropriate.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Backend Engineering, or a related role.
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt, SQL, data modeling, and data pipelines.
• Experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks and modern orchestration tools.
• Strong communication, teamwork, ownership, reliability, and professional work ethic.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with evolving requirements.
• Comfort adopting new technologies and using GenAI tools in daily engineering work.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Python, REST APIs, or backend service development.
• Experience with Streamlit or similar frameworks for data-driven applications.
