Industrial Electrician - Automation & Controls (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Hauppauge, New York, United States

Annual salary: $79,000–$90,000, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Provide first-tier electrical support for manufacturing and facility equipment, troubleshooting and repairing failures to restore production safely.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on motors, motor controls, VFDs, electrical panels, power distribution systems, and related infrastructure.
• Support equipment installation, modification, startup, commissioning, qualification, and capital projects.
• Partner with the Automation & Controls team to troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and improve site automation systems.
• Read schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and technical documentation while maintaining accurate maintenance records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of electrical maintenance and troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Hands-on experience with motors, motor controls, VFDs, electrical panels, and industrial power distribution systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, control panel layouts, and technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and commitment to safety, reliability, continuous improvement, and customer-focused support.

Nice to have

• Electrical trade school, journeyman electrician, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, Allen-Bradley platforms, HMIs, sensors, industrial networking, and control panel wiring.
• Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated production environments.
• Experience with CMMS systems, preventive maintenance programs, OSHA, and NFPA 70E standards.
