Registered Nurse, RN - Special Care Nursery, Per Diem

Location: Lowell General Hospital, Main Campus - Special Care Nursery, Lowell, Massachusetts, United States

Pay range: $37.50–$56.41 per hour based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Provide direct professional nursing care to patients and their families in the special care nursery.
• Conduct and document clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Apply nursing judgment and evidence-based practice to changing patient needs.
• Manage patient assignments, delegate care, and coordinate with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families, support informed decisions, and prepare comprehensive discharge plans.
• Support onboarding, precepting, and professional development of nursing staff.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• 12 months to less than 3 years of RN experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Department-specific certifications relevant to patient care may be required.
• Knowledge of the nursing process and effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare staff.
• Ability to lift and maneuver patients, stand and walk for extended periods, and work around infectious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and chemicals.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
