UX Designer (Electric Power)

Location: Pullman, Washington, United States; this is an onsite position.

Salary: $84,200–$112,300 annually.

Develops critical software and hardware products for protecting, controlling, monitoring, and analyzing the electric power grid.

What you will do

• Design software products and user experiences end to end.
• Transform complex power-system tasks into intuitive workflows and accessible data visualizations.
• Apply interaction, visual, communication, and user experience design methods.
• Participate in user research, usability validation, design critique, and open collaboration.
• Develop expertise in at least one domain related to the power grid.
• Collaborate with UX designers, researchers, product managers, and software developers across multiple projects.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in interaction design, graphic or visual communications design, human-computer interaction, or a related field.
• 2+ years of demonstrable experience designing, prototyping, and testing interfaces for web, mobile, desktop, hardware, or embedded displays.
• Basic experience with graphic, interaction, display, and user experience design principles and methods.
• Basic understanding of user experience research methods and how to apply research results.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills, take on responsibilities, and understand sophisticated problem domains.

Nice to have

• Experience designing for sophisticated problem domains.
• Business-to-business UX experience.
• Enterprise UX experience.
