Engineer II - Tooling (SolidWorks)

Location: Kulpsville, Pennsylvania, United States. The role requires U.S. Person status under ITAR, including U.S. citizenship, U.S. nationality, lawful permanent residence, or qualifying refugee or asylum status.

What you will do

• Lead tooling projects and provide technical guidance to ensure project deliverables are met.
• Create and revise detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings for tools, fixtures, compression molds, injection molds, and aerospace composite tooling.
• Review and approve tooling designs created by other designers and engineers.
• Coordinate with internal and external tool shops on quotations, purchasing, manufacturing updates, and technical requirements.
• Represent tooling in DFM meetings, troubleshoot production tooling issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain tooling templates, design automation software, PLM and digital file systems, while supporting quality audits and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of tool and die design experience; compression and/or injection molding experience is preferred.
• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastic Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Strong mechanical design and 3D CAD skills, preferably with SolidWorks.
• Experience with elastomer or plastic products in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using PLM systems, preferably 3DExperience, and the ability to communicate clearly in a team environment.
• U.S. Person status is required for authorized access to ITAR-controlled data.

Nice to have

• Machine shop or toolshop exposure.
• Lean Six Sigma experience.
• Experience with DriveWorks CAD design automation software.
