Simulator Technician - CMLU

Location: Comox, British Columbia, Canada; on-site simulator maintenance role with rotating schedules, extended shifts, and occasional weekends.

Base pay: CAD 68,500–102,700 per year.

What you will do

• Lead assigned maintenance shifts and coordinate daily maintenance priorities with simulator operations, integration, and logistics specialists.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on flight simulators and associated hardware, software, electrical, electronic, mechanical, and avionics systems.
• Diagnose complex faults, perform advanced troubleshooting and fault isolation, and maintain simulator readiness for training delivery.
• Lead Qualification Test Guide testing and evaluate results.
• Support engineering modifications, system upgrades, software enhancements, and technical improvement projects.
• Mentor Simulator Technicians I and II and provide technical guidance, training, and customer support.

Requirements

• At least three years of direct simulator maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and operational experience.
• Advanced troubleshooting and fault-isolation experience with complex technical systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical, electronic, and mechanical schematics and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with software diagnostic tools, soldering, and circuit board repair.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods Program registration and NATO Secret security clearance.

Nice to have

• Diploma, certificate, military occupation qualification, or degree in electronics, electrical technology, avionics, aerospace engineering technology, aircraft maintenance, or a related discipline.
• Experience with hirify.global simulator systems, flight simulation devices, military aviation training systems, or operations.
• Experience leading maintenance activities, coordinating technical teams, mentoring technical personnel, or conducting simulator qualification and acceptance testing.
• Experience supporting engineering modifications, upgrades, or software enhancements.
