Software Engineer (AI/.NET)

Location: Chicago, IL; the role may be performed in a professional office environment or a remote/home office setting depending on business needs and company policy. Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Partner with Finance, Human Resources, Accounting, Payroll, Legal, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and identify process improvement opportunities.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain custom applications, scripts, APIs, integrations, reports, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Build and support integrations between enterprise systems using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and technologies.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve application, integration, and performance issues while supporting existing systems.
• Create technical documentation, user guides, system diagrams, development standards, and support procedures.
• Apply coding standards, security controls, data governance requirements, change management, release management, and quality assurance practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of professional experience in software development, business application development, or related technical roles.
• Hands-on experience in a Microsoft .NET environment, including C# and PowerShell.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing requirements, work independently, and collaborate effectively.
• Legal right to work in the United States without company sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools, APIs, SQL Server, REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML.
• Full-stack web development experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Angular or similar front-end frameworks.
• Experience with Workday integrations, reporting, or business process configuration.
