Software Engineer IV (AI)

Location: Remote

Salary: $116,700–$160,400 per year, plus a performance-based bonus opportunity.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and design of complex, distributed systems using scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native patterns.
• Design APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems in Microsoft Azure, including Azure App Services and Cosmos DB.
• Implement high-quality systems and lead complex initiatives across multiple services and engineering teams.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools such as Codex, Spec-Kit, and MCP servers while maintaining code quality and security.
• Build observability, monitoring, and alerting with Azure Application Insights and Log Analytics.
• Lead performance optimization, capacity planning, cost-efficiency improvements, incident response, and root cause analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong system design expertise.
• Proven experience architecting and delivering complex, distributed systems.
• Experience building and operating solutions in Microsoft Azure environments.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Codex, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
• Strong programming skills in one or more of C#, Java, Python, Go, or TypeScript, plus experience with microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

• Experience rolling out AI-assisted development tools at scale within engineering organizations.
• Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect or Azure Developer.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Pulumi or Terraform.
• Experience working in regulated environments such as healthcare or fintech.
