Principal Software Development Engineer (C++/SystemC)

Location: Remote in the United Kingdom. Candidates must provide satisfactory proof of their right to work in the United Kingdom.

What you will do

• Architect and develop complex C++ and SystemC models for hardware solutions.
• Develop, validate, debug, and troubleshoot hardware models and firmware.
• Develop Python code to process models.
• Build QEMU emulation and other software to support model solutions and firmware development platforms.
• Apply firmware expertise to model-driven hardware design flows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor engineers on model-first development methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• 5–10 years of experience in firmware or embedded software development.
• Proficiency with C/C++ in embedded or hardware-adjacent environments.
• Strong foundations in object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
• Independent problem-solving skills, willingness to learn new methodologies, and strong written and verbal communication.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of FPGA logic design or hardware description concepts.
• Experience with SystemC, QEMU, or hardware modeling.
• Knowledge of Python.
