Principal Technical Program Manager (AI)

Location: Upstream Building AR Bentonville Home Office, Bentonville, Arkansas, United States; onsite full-time role.

Annual salary: $110,000–$220,000, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Define and manage large-scale technical programs, including goals, stage gates, deliverables, resources, and timelines.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and dependencies, secure commitments, resolve conflicts, and provide clarity in ambiguous situations.
• Lead system design discussions focused on scalability, high availability, and performance.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and manage issues throughout program delivery.
• Establish scalable workflows, prioritization frameworks, governance practices, and operational excellence processes.
• Communicate progress and risks to stakeholders, support decision-making, and mentor program management team members.

Requirements

• Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, plus 6 years of relevant experience.
• Option 2: 8 years of experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or a related area.
• Extensive experience managing complex, cross-functional programs, including risks, stakeholders, budgets, resources, and delivery paths.
• Strong expertise in system design, cloud infrastructure, software lifecycle management, and service management frameworks.
• Ability to translate product requirements into scalable technical designs and support operational excellence through monitoring and incident management.
• Must work onsite at the Bentonville, Arkansas location.

Nice to have

• Project management certification.
• Master’s degree in business administration with a relevant specialization and experience in product design.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
