Principal Engineer - Process Engineering CVD (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Essex Junction, Vermont, United States; fully on site at Fab9. Monday–Friday daytime schedule with up to 10% travel.

Salary: $85,000–$146,000 per year, determined by qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Sustain, improve, and own existing CVD processes while developing new processes for dielectric and conductive films.
• Collaborate with maintenance technicians, process technicians, and peer engineers to meet production demands.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment availability, cost reduction, and yield improvement.
• Support cross-functional problem solving with facilities, maintenance, and equipment engineering teams.
• Support the installation and startup of new or retrofit equipment.
• Mentor and lead lower-level engineering team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field with 4–5 years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree with 2–4 years; or a PhD with 1–2 years.
• Fluent English, written and verbal, is required.
• Experience with problem solving, action-plan communication, planning, and organization.
• Advanced data analysis experience and understanding of semiconductor manufacturing, equipment, and cleanroom facilities.
• Ability to lift and carry parts up to 30 lbs and stand, bend, or crouch while inspecting or working on equipment in a cleanroom for extended periods.
• Ability to work fully on site in Essex Junction and travel up to 10%.

• Experience with Fab 9 data systems.
• Project management experience and communication of project plans.
