What you will do

• Lead legal strategy, due diligence, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management for Tier-1 institutional bank partnerships.
• Structure, draft, and negotiate complex program, commercial, and model engagement agreements.
• Advise the business on consumer lending regulations and balance product innovation with compliance requirements.
• Protect proprietary AI models, data pipelines, intellectual property, privacy, and confidential business information.
• Partner with Product, Data Science, Research, Risk, and Commercial teams on AI underwriting compliance, fair lending, and algorithmic bias mitigation.
• Translate regulatory constraints into long-term business strategies and provide functional leadership within the legal organization.

Requirements

• 8–15+ years of total legal experience, including 7–10 years in consumer credit, retail banking, or lending partnerships.
• Expertise in TILA/Reg Z, ECOA/Reg B, FCRA, UDAP/UDAAP, and GLBA.
• Deep knowledge of bank-fintech origination structures, marketplace lending, and the true lender doctrine.
• Experience with Tier-1 bank third-party risk management, information security, and compliance audits.
• Strong background in financial data protection, privacy, and intellectual property in technical environments.
• Juris Doctor degree and active membership in good standing with at least one state bar.
