Technical Communications Writer (Quantum R&D)

Location: On-site in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Hybrid or remote arrangements may be considered for candidates located in the Northeast. Travel up to 25%, including domestic and international travel.

Salary: $112,800–$155,800 USD base salary per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Translate quantum computing concepts, research, and product developments into clear content for websites, blogs, presentations, and thought leadership.
• Develop technical highlights that communicate hirify.global’s innovations and differentiate its approach.
• Partner with R&D and Engineering teams to understand workstreams, milestones, and priorities and build a structured content pipeline.
• Ensure technical accuracy while adapting messaging for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support R&D leaders with external conferences, panels, publications, and other engagements.
• Track the quantum ecosystem and help scientists and engineers communicate their work externally.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in technical writing, scientific communication, or a related technical field, including experience gained through a Ph.D. program, corporation, research lab, or similar setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in physics, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives.
• Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously and influence senior stakeholders.
• U.S. citizenship or nationality, U.S. permanent residence, or qualifying refugee/asylee status may be required due to export-control and government-contract restrictions.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as an MS or PhD in a relevant field.
• Experience in quantum computing or deep tech.
• Experience supporting prototype-to-product transitions in a communications role.
