Quality Systems Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States; hybrid attendance at the designated location at least three times per week. Travel required up to 25%. Relocation benefits are available for eligible candidates.

What you will do

• Lead the development and implementation of automated measurement systems for body assemblies and complete vehicles.
• Coordinate equipment, tooling, process flow, facilities, controls integration, installation, and dimensional validation.
• Partner with Body Quality, BIW/GA, Controls, Robotics, Conveyance, Vehicle Systems, suppliers, and launch teams.
• Develop zone processes, conversion timing, cost estimates, and Statements of Requirements for sourced equipment and automation systems.
• Manage system development from concept and tool design through construction, integration, installation, and production validation.
• Deliver tuned-in body systems in line with Manufacturing Validation requirements and incorporate continuous improvements into standards and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in Body Manufacturing or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience developing automated systems in a Body Shop, including processing, design, construction, integration, and launch.
• Experience managing suppliers and integrators to deliver equipment and systems on schedule.
• Expertise in body manufacturing and assembly processes, dimensional quality, and measurement systems.
• Knowledge of statistics and GD&T, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with inspection systems using moving and fixed cameras.
• Body shop launch, assembly plant, manufacturing processing, or dimensional process control experience.
• Experience troubleshooting tooling issues.
• Proficiency with GOM software.
• Knowledge of Teamcenter Visualization and Mockup.
