Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Waltham, MA, United States; onsite at the hirify.global HQ

Salary: $90,000–$105,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide daily manufacturing-floor support and real-time technical triage for build issues, part non-conformances, assembly failures, and repairs.
• Lead root cause analysis and end-to-end corrective and preventive action projects for complex mechanical and electromechanical defects.
• Own the Material Review Board process, disposition non-conforming hardware, and track defect trends.
• Implement containment actions, quality gates, in-process inspection standards, and control plans for active builds.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Build, Repair, Hardware Engineering, Reliability, Design Engineering, and Operations teams to close corrective actions.
• Update work instructions, SOPs, inspection checklists, and quality metrics based on investigation outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or comparable industry experience.
• 3–6 years of manufacturing quality engineering experience with direct shop-floor support.
• Advanced knowledge of root cause analysis methods including 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and DMAIC.
• Hands-on experience with non-conformances, MRB workflows, line containment, and inspection procedures.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, assembly specifications, and GD&T.
• Strong project management and cross-functional execution skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics, complex actuators, or high-density electromechanical assemblies.
• Knowledge of MES/QMS platforms, quality dashboards, and non-conformance tracking tools.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering change orders.
• Experience with Minitab, JMP, or similar statistical analysis software.
