Senior Reinsurance Technician

What you will do

• Manage assigned reinsurance programmes and own related processes from end to end.
• Create and maintain reinsurance risks in core systems, ensuring policy terms and system drivers are recorded accurately.
• Calculate, book, advise, and settle reinsurance premiums, commissions, expenses, and recoveries.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to accelerate reinsurance funds and reduce dispute risk.
• Support Actuarial and Finance teams with reserving, financial reporting, data analysis, and issue resolution.
• Lead process improvement, automation, data quality, internal controls, and reporting activities, including SOX requirements.

Requirements

• Previous insurance industry experience with strong knowledge of post-placement reinsurance processes.
• Ability to interpret and analyse reinsurance contract language and assess the applicability of cover.
• Strong numerical, analytical, interpersonal, customer service, and workload-prioritisation skills.
• Ability to manage high work volumes, changing priorities, reporting cycles, system changes, and tight deadlines.
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite; ability to learn in-house software.
• Understanding of accounting principles and internal controls, including SOX, is beneficial.

Nice to have

• Experience with Eclipse and Oracle.
• Exposure to Power BI, Microsoft Power Apps, Phinsys, Databricks, and Ataccama.
• Regular use of AI-powered assistants.
