Senior Software Engineer (Developer Tooling)

Location: Must be based in Ireland or the United Kingdom and have the right to work independently without sponsorship. Remote-first, with regular monthly travel for team meetings and quarterly travel for events and customers.

What you will do

• Build and maintain developer-facing integrations including the CLI, Terraform provider, MCP server, and IDE/LSP extensions.
• Design durable interfaces with careful versioning, backwards compatibility, and strong ergonomics.
• Own the full software development lifecycle from design and development through testing, release, and long-term support.
• Work with engineering, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, and external customers to turn feedback into scalable tooling improvements.
• Improve automation across testing, validation, and releases while supporting the broader hirify.global platform.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping and maintaining production-grade software.
• Strong API and interface design skills, including versioning and breaking-change management.
• Proficiency in at least one strongly typed language such as Go, Python, or TypeScript.
• Understanding of secure coding practices, credentials, tokens, and access patterns.
• Familiarity with CI/CD ecosystems and modern DevOps toolchains.
• Must be based in Ireland or the United Kingdom, have independent work authorization, and not require visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with CLIs, SDKs, Terraform providers, language server protocols, IDE extensions, or similar developer tooling.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
