TL;DR
Backend Engineer (AI Integrations) (AI/LLM): Building production-ready generative AI features and customer-facing AI products with an accent on backend architecture, LLM APIs, retrieval, and agentic engineering. Focus on designing agent orchestration and tool use, integrating MCP servers, selecting models for quality and cost, and delivering reliable systems from prototype to production.
Location: Remote from Brazil
Salary: $60,000–$100,000 annually

What you will do
- Lead engineering for production-ready generative AI features and customer-facing AI products.
- Architect backend and full-stack systems, write clean code, and own features from prototype through delivery.
- Integrate LLM APIs and build agent orchestration, tool use, retrieval layers, and supporting interfaces.
- Improve internal AI tooling and delivery practices.
- Help hire and interview engineers and mentor teammates.
- Estimate project timelines and scope accurately while collaborating with clients and engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including leading projects or people.
- Backend development experience with TypeScript or Python.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as Azure, GCP, or AWS, and databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
- Hands-on experience with modern LLM APIs, agentic products, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, and vector search.
- Experience writing and evaluating Claude Skills, creating and integrating MCP servers, and converting API endpoints into tools.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills required.
Nice to have
- Experience with system administration, internal workspaces, and IT infrastructure such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or SharePoint.
- Experience connecting Cowork or ChatGPT Work to internal data sources and integrating Microsoft 365 with AI systems.
- Experience building data ingestion pipelines or working in the financial sector.
- Consulting, product studio, or multi-client delivery experience.
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex, and demonstrable work projects or open-source contributions.
