Solutions Engineer (IT/AV)

Location: Remote from a home office within Southern California, with residence in the designated region required by the start date. Primary coverage includes Irvine and Los Angeles, with San Diego as a secondary consideration. Regular onsite customer, partner, and hirify.global meetings are required, with up to 50% travel including possible travel outside the territory.

OTE (base plus variable bonus): $150,000–$236,000, depending on location and experience.

What you will do

• Partner with salespeople to lead technical discovery, solution design, and technical strategy for priority opportunities.
• Lead proof-of-concept engagements and structured evaluations with defined scope, success criteria, timelines, and decision points.
• Deliver technical demonstrations, deep dives, training sessions, and enablement workshops for customer stakeholders.
• Address IT, AV, deployment, security, and product-functionality concerns while reducing technical risk and supporting customer decisions.
• Develop competitive technical positioning and communicate customer insights to product, marketing, and support teams.
• Document technical work, risks, decisions, and outcomes in Salesforce and maintain a home lab or demo environment.

Requirements

• Experience in solutions engineering, sales engineering, or technical consulting in IT/AV.
• Experience with enterprise or mid-market customers and channel partners in technical sales environments.
• Background in pre-sales solution design, IT infrastructure, AV deployments, or collaboration technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Webex, TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, security configurations, and cloud collaboration tools.
• Experience with AV system design, including microphones, speakers, cameras, and room acoustics, plus familiarity with device management platforms, cloud infrastructure, and API integrations.
• Strong discovery, presentation, demonstration, storytelling, executive communication, judgment, and follow-through skills.

Nice to have

• Technical certifications in collaboration platforms, networking, or AV technologies.
• Experience mentoring peers and influencing cross-functional teams without formal authority.
