DevOps Automation Engineer (Terraform)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain infrastructure-as-code foundations for cloud and hybrid environments.
• Create reusable Terraform modules with clean APIs and disciplined versioning.
• Manage Terraform state, backends, and large-scale workspace organization across multiple environments and accounts.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure code and automated policy enforcement.
• Standardize infrastructure delivery across multiple teams and cloud providers.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and perform root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of cloud infrastructure or DevOps engineering experience, including significant Terraform work.
• Deep hands-on experience authoring and maintaining production Terraform with at least one major cloud provider.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated policy enforcement, cloud networking, identity, security primitives, and Git-based workflows.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, or eligible for H-1B transfer; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Multi-cloud Terraform experience with AWS and Azure or AWS and GCP.
• Familiarity with Terragrunt, Atlantis, Spacelift, or env0.
• Experience with Sentinel, OPA, or Checkov.
• Contributions to public Terraform modules or providers.
• Exposure to FinOps and tagging-driven cost governance.
