Senior Principal Scientist (Type 2 Immunology)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; onsite. The position is for US and Puerto Rico residents only.

Salary: $148,500–$214,500 per year.

What you will do

• Lead preclinical research programs from hypothesis generation through experimental execution and integrate findings into clinical strategy.
• Support early clinical, late-stage, and marketed product programs through translational research and lifecycle management.
• Design and execute experiments using human and murine immunology approaches, including in vitro and in vivo assays.
• Apply single-cell technologies, flow cytometry, scRNA-seq, multiomics, molecular techniques, and imaging platforms.
• Lead cross-functional collaborations with Development, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams in a matrixed organization.
• Communicate scientific findings, mentor junior scientists, maintain laboratory activity, and ensure laboratory safety and accurate ELN records.

Requirements

• PhD in immunology, neuroimmunology, molecular biology, pharmacology, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience; equivalent pathways include a Master’s with 10+ years or a Bachelor’s with 12+ years.
• Experience leading preclinical research projects or contributing to early clinical, late-stage, or marketed product programs.
• Expertise in human and murine immunology, inflammatory disease pathways, translational research, and clinical development or lifecycle management.
• Experience with single-cell approaches, flow cytometry, scRNA-seq, molecular techniques, multiomic platforms, and advanced research assays.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder management, scientific communication, mentorship, and team leadership skills.
• Record of scientific publications and presentations, plus experience with academic collaborations and contract research organizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Type 2 inflammatory diseases in dermatology, respiratory, gastrointestinal, or rheumatology settings.
• Clinical biomarker strategy experience.
• Hands-on experience with human tissue biopsies, mouse disease models, or organoid systems.
• Experience contributing to regulatory submissions or clinical trial design.
