TL;DR
Compliance Manager - UK (HealthTech): Protecting sensitive healthcare data and enabling compliant growth for a cloud-based clinical system with an accent on UK and EU GDPR, clinical safety, and healthcare regulatory frameworks. Focus on conducting DPIAs, managing DSARs and risk registers, advising product and engineering teams, and embedding compliance across the SaaS organization.
Location: Fully remote in the UK and France, with occasional travel to offices in London or Paris
Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per year, based on experience and value brought.

What you will do
- Safeguard sensitive healthcare data and support compliant growth across the UK, France, and Ireland.
- Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and operational frameworks.
- Maintain the risk register, conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments, and support internal and external audits.
- Manage data subject access requests, complaints, and data protection queries.
- Translate regulatory requirements into practical guidance for product, engineering, and commercial teams.
- Deliver compliance training and support clinical safety initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of practical experience in compliance, data protection, or privacy within the UK.
- Experience in a SaaS startup or scale-up with frequent product releases.
- Experience with Electronic Health Record software and special category health data.
- Applied knowledge of UK GDPR and EU GDPR, including DPIAs, data subject rights, and supervisory authority queries.
- Strong communication skills and a commercial, pragmatic approach to compliance.
- Must be located in the UK or France; occasional travel to London or Paris may be required.
Nice to have
- Vendor management experience.
- French proficiency and knowledge of French data protection and health data regulations.
- Experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
