Senior Design Manager (Infrastructure)

Location: Social Infrastructure, Dartford, United Kingdom. The role requires site visits, site meetings, and monitoring work executed on site.

What you will do

• Lead technical and design processes, design teams, external consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout design, procurement, construction, and handover.
• Develop and manage project-specific design programmes, scopes, schedules, fee tracking, information workflows, and progress reporting.
• Review bids, technical specifications, consultant and subcontractor designs, build methods, value engineering opportunities, risks, compliance, buildability, and cost effectiveness.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary building design, including fire safety, structures, M&E, façades, internal specifications, service strategies, and maintenance strategies.
• Manage design approvals, change control, RFIs, corrective measures, planning and Building Control submissions, certificates, and regulatory documentation.
• Oversee document control, design package presentations, technical coordination workshops, site meetings, and the collation of handover information, golden thread records, H&S files, O&M manuals, and resident packs.

Requirements

• Experience managing technical design delivery for construction or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to lead design teams and coordinate external consultants, subcontractors, Commercial teams, Operations teams, clients, Planning Authorities, and Building Control.
• Knowledge of design compliance, current regulations, planning consent, system literature, fire safety, structures, M&E, buildability, and construction quality requirements.
• Ability to manage programmes, budgets, consultant fees, procurement, design approvals, document control, and change processes.
• Ability to fulfil the CDM Principal Designer role and the Building Regulations Principal Designer role as Designated Individual.
• Availability to work in Dartford and attend site visits and site meetings is required.
