AI Governance Director (Data Science)

What you will do

• Own and continuously improve the end-to-end AI and model governance framework for the Data Science function.
• Define standards for model risk classification, approvals, documentation, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Set the strategic roadmap for AI governance tools and processes, including automation and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with AI regulations and standards, including the EU AI Act, GDPR, ISO 42001, and emerging global requirements.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Information Security, technical, and product stakeholders.
• Lead audits, regulatory and customer engagements, governance reporting, model inventory oversight, training, and capability development.

Requirements

• Significant experience in AI or model governance, model risk management, data governance, compliance, or a related risk discipline, including people management.
• Strong knowledge of AI governance regulations and frameworks, including the EU AI Act and ISO 42001 or similar.
• Experience designing and operating governance processes for AI/ML models in production environments.
• Strong commercial judgment and the ability to balance innovation, risk, and business objectives.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience influencing senior technical and business leaders.
• Working knowledge of the AI/ML lifecycle, from data sourcing and model development through validation, deployment, and monitoring.
