TL;DR
Senior Data Engineer (Python/SQL): Building and scaling production-grade batch pipelines, real-time data streams, and cloud-ready data applications from megabytes to petabytes with an accent on low-latency processing, data quality, and scalable architecture. Focus on designing distributed data solutions, leading client-facing architecture and implementation work, and integrating data systems across machine learning, data science, and software engineering teams.
Location: Remote in LatAm, North Macedonia, Portugal, or Serbia

What you will do
- Build scalable, production-grade batch data pipelines and real-time data streams.
- Design and implement cloud-ready applications supporting low-latency workloads from megabytes to petabytes.
- Lead technical projects through architecture, design, and implementation.
- Work with clients to understand business and technical needs, evaluate solutions, and define implementation approaches and estimates.
- Collaborate with Machine Learning, Data Science, Design, Software Engineering, and Business teams to resolve data and ETL issues.
- Build tests, health checks, dashboards, and visualizations to maintain code and data quality and monitor data flows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a related data engineering role.
- Advanced Python and SQL skills.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining ETL systems.
- Experience delivering data-centric products with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, in-memory and disk-based databases, full-text search engines, and database design and maintenance.
- Experience with data warehousing, columnar data models, data lakes, and massively parallel processing, plus strong problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with IAM, federated authentication, SSO, SAML, encryption, security, APIs, disaster recovery, or backup.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, Spark, Pandas, and data lakehouse technologies such as Hudi, Delta Lake, Databricks, or Iceberg.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, QuickSight, or data visualization.
