Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

Location: Remote within European time zones; Serbia or Spain

What you will do

• Build scalable, high-load systems in Python.
• Adapt the platform to process 200–400M+ records per day.
• Design integrations with external channels using a unified, channel-agnostic data model and API.
• Build and maintain ingestion, normalization, deduplication, and backfill data pipelines.
• Ensure data quality through validation, reconciliation, and freshness and completeness monitoring.
• Improve reliability, observability, cost efficiency, deployment, and legacy-system modernization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial Python experience.
• Excellent knowledge of raw SQL and deep experience with PostgreSQL performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes at scale.
• Experience designing microservices, scaling distributed systems, and integrating multiple external APIs through unified abstraction layers.
• Experience with modern CI/CD tools and improving development processes.
• Ability to consider business implications when making architecture decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience with ClickHouse, BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, message brokers, or async Python.
• AdTech or mobile marketing domain knowledge, including ad networks, attribution, or MMPs.
• Experience building LLM-powered features, AI agents, or MCP servers for platform data and actions.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, GCP, Grafana, or Datadog.
