Director, Strategic Sourcing - Heads & Media

Location: Fujisawa, Japan; secondary location: Singapore. Work is based at the Fujisawa office.

What you will do

• Define and execute global sourcing strategies and multi-year roadmaps for the Heads & Media commodity portfolio.
• Lead strategic supplier relationships, governance, executive business reviews, performance management, and escalations.
• Drive complex negotiations, long-term agreements, pricing strategies, business allocation, cost reduction, and total cost of ownership optimization.
• Manage supply continuity risks through capacity planning, dual sourcing, geographic diversification, and contingency planning.
• Partner with Engineering, Product Development, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Legal, and executive stakeholders.
• Lead and develop a global sourcing organization, including succession planning, coaching, accountability, and transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, commodity management, supply chain, or supplier management.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing and developing teams.
• Proven experience negotiating complex commercial agreements with global suppliers and delivering cost savings, risk mitigation, and business transformation.
• Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, financial analysis, negotiation, and supplier relationship skills.
• Business-level Japanese and English proficiency required.

Nice to have

• MBA or another advanced degree.
• CPSM, CIPS, CPM, or equivalent procurement certification.
• Experience in data storage, semiconductors, electronics, advanced manufacturing, or precision component supply chains.
• Global sourcing experience across Asia, Europe, and North America.
• Experience leading large-scale transformation or cost optimization programs.
