Advanced Packaging Materials Sr. Commodity Manager

Location: Hybrid role based at an assigned hirify.global site in Tokyo, Japan, or Penang, Malaysia, with time split between on-site and off-site work.

What you will do

• Develop and execute commodity strategies aligned with business objectives and the advanced packaging technology roadmap.
• Optimize cost, quality, availability, and technology across the advanced packaging materials supply chain.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, including sourcing, selection, performance management, and executive alignment.
• Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, cost-reduction roadmaps, and supplier business models.
• Assess supplier capabilities, financial health, and market dynamics while implementing supply-chain and sub-tier risk mitigation.
• Partner with engineering, operations, technology development, finance, planning, and legal teams to influence material specifications and design decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of professional experience in supply chain or commodity management.
• Experience in contracting, supplier management, sourcing, or cost, supply, and risk management.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and executive engagement skills.
• Ability to connect technical requirements with cost, supply, and supplier capabilities.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model from an assigned hirify.global site in Tokyo or Penang.

Nice to have

• MBA or another advanced degree.
• Experience influencing technical or product decisions through supply-chain strategy.
• Semiconductor or advanced packaging industry knowledge.
• Experience as a supplier-side representative with customer engagement, price negotiation, and contracting.
