HV Battery Development Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Barcelona area, Spain; availability to travel when required

Salary: €35,000–€45,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead high-voltage battery system and component development, including battery packs, BMS, hardware, and software.
• Drive subsystem design and validation across virtual, prototype, and serial production phases.
• Translate vehicle performance, functionality, and reliability targets into system requirements.
• Manage technical issues, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and countermeasure definition during development and production.
• Coordinate design, testing, manufacturing, and supplier activities while tracking quality, cost, delivery, and project milestones.
• Prepare technical reports and design notes, and support calibration, dataset preparation, system integration, and market issue resolution.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience with electrified powertrains or high-voltage battery systems.
• Strong experience in system design and development from concept through SOP.
• Experience with high-voltage battery packs, cells, thermal systems, safety, system validation, and testing.
• Experience coordinating projects, working with suppliers, and operating in complex automotive environments.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required. Strong autonomy, analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills are expected.
