Category Manager - Indirect Procurement

Location: Bassano del Grappa, Italy, or Barcelona, Spain; office attendance required 3–4 days per week with travel across the EU for plant and supplier visits.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end procurement for products, services, capital equipment, and site projects, from supplier selection through contract management.
• Develop group-wide supplier strategies, preferred supplier lists, category plans, and cost-down initiatives.
• Negotiate high-value and complex contracts while improving total cost of ownership, innovation, value, and reliability.
• Build supplier performance metrics, service-level agreements, budgets, sustainability measures, and other category KPIs.
• Partner with site management, procurement teams, functional experts, finance, and local buyers across the group.
• Monitor supplier performance, communicate risks, support escalations, and promote ethical and sustainable supplier selection.

Requirements

• 5+ years of procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Experience with marketing, HR, consultancy, and engineering services categories.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience managing large contracts and complex suppliers.
• Ability to influence technical and operational stakeholders in multicultural, cross-functional matrix teams.
• Proficiency in collecting, analysing, and presenting business data, with strong presentation and influencing skills.
• Ability to work from the Bassano del Grappa or Barcelona office 3–4 days per week and travel across the EU.
