Supplier Development Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Getafe Area, Madrid, Spain; hybrid working model when possible, with approximately 40% travel to supplier sites and occasional short-notice missions worldwide.

What you will do

• Conduct supplier assessments and field missions to identify operational weaknesses, capacity constraints, and improvement opportunities.
• Define and execute corrective, improvement, and development action plans with internal stakeholders and supplier leadership.
• Deploy Lean, Six Sigma, 8D/PPS, APQP, pFMEA, SPC, and DMAIC methods at supplier sites.
• Lead Transfer of Work and New Product Implementation initiatives while mitigating supply chain risks.
• Provide operational recovery support during critical supplier delivery and quality issues.
• Manage cross-functional assessment teams and coordinate with global suppliers across organizational levels.

Requirements

• Engineering degree in aeronautical, industrial, mechanical, or related technical disciplines, or business management with a strong industrial background.
• Senior-level profile with at least 5 years of experience in supply chain, quality, manufacturing, engineering, or procurement within the aeronautic sector.
• Advanced or negotiation-level English is mandatory.
• Strong communication, negotiation, influencing, ownership, problem-solving, adaptability, and intercultural collaboration skills.
• Expertise in manufacturing processes, APQP tools, APICS fundamentals, and end-to-end project or supply chain management.
• Willingness to travel regularly, approximately 40%.

Nice to have

• Spanish and/or German language knowledge.
• Six Sigma Black Belt or Shainin accreditation.
• Experience in audits and supplier assessments.
• Familiarity with procurement IT tools and multiple languages.
