Senior Legal Counsel - Customer, Technology & Intellectual Property (AI): Providing strategic legal support across customer agreements, technology contracting, intellectual property, privacy and regulatory matters for an AI infrastructure and cloud platform with an accent on complex commercial arrangements, software, SaaS and IP issues. Focus on negotiating customer and technology contracts, managing cross-border regulatory risk, and advising business leaders across a rapidly scaling AI infrastructure business.
Location: Sydney, Melbourne or Singapore

What you will do
- Provide strategic, commercially focused legal advice to business leaders on customer, technology and intellectual property matters.
- Lead legal support for significant customer engagements and negotiate complex customer and commercial arrangements.
- Advise on technology, software, SaaS, IT contracting, product and platform matters.
- Support intellectual property protection, licensing and commercialisation.
- Advise on privacy, data protection, export controls, consumer law and fair trading.
- Develop and maintain legal templates, policies, frameworks and risk management practices.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience in a top-tier law firm or sophisticated in-house legal environment.
- Strong expertise in technology, intellectual property, privacy, data protection, customer contracting, consumer law and commercial contracting.
- Proven ability to negotiate complex customer, technology and commercial arrangements with sound commercial judgment.
- LLB, JD or equivalent legal qualification.
- Admission as a legal practitioner in Australia and eligibility to hold a practising certificate.
Nice to have
- Experience in technology, cloud, software, telecommunications, digital infrastructure, AI or data centre sectors.
- Experience with cybersecurity, technology procurement, software licensing and cross-border regulatory matters.
- Experience supporting rapidly scaling technology businesses and enterprise customers.
