Legal Officer (Financial Services)

What you will do

• Provide legal advice and support across business operations, including preparing, reviewing, and amending legal documents.
• Review and manage third-party contracts, ensuring compliance, mitigating legal risks, and monitoring agreed terms.
• Monitor changes in financial regulations and corporate law and advise management on operational impact.
• Work with the Chief Compliance Officer on regulatory inquiries, reports, licensing applications, and renewals.
• Support Sales, Marketing, Back Office, and Human Resources with legal matters and liaise with external counsel, regulators, and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law; postgraduate legal qualifications are valued.
• Knowledge of Australian corporations law and financial services regulatory requirements.
• Experience in financial services, a law firm, or an in-house legal environment.
• Strong legal research, drafting, contract review, attention to detail, and practical commercial judgment.
• Professional proficiency in English and Mandarin, including strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to collaborate across business functions and manage multiple priorities.
