Event & Community Manager (AI Social Commerce)

Location: Hybrid role based in or near Palo Alto, California; four days in the Palo Alto office with three remote flex days per quarter after the first three months. Regular travel to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and industry conferences is expected at 20–30%.

Salary: $130K–$180K annually, plus equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end planning and execution of the West Coast event calendar across the Bay Area and Los Angeles, including customer dinners, executive roundtables, happy hours, creator meetups, conferences, sponsorships, and booths.
• Build Nectar's West Coast events program and recurring event series from the ground up, managing budgets, vendors, venues, staffing, logistics, and scalable processes.
• Partner with sales and customer success on account-based events that generate pipeline, deepen customer relationships, and include structured attendee follow-up.
• Track event ROI, attendance, sourced and influenced pipeline, and customer sentiment to improve the event calendar.
• Support the launch and growth of the customer and industry community through AMAs, office hours, member spotlights, and peer discussions.
• Develop relationships with customers, creators, industry voices, and community advocates, and share insights with product, marketing, and customer success.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in B2B event marketing, community management, or a combination of both, primarily in B2B SaaS.
• Experience running B2B field and executive events end to end, from concept through post-event reporting, with measurable pipeline impact.
• Fluency in event measurement, including HubSpot or Salesforce attribution, sourced versus influenced pipeline, and target-account follow-up.
• Experience supporting or growing an online or in-person community, with strong written, verbal, and project management skills.
• Based in or near Palo Alto, with working knowledge of the Bay Area and Los Angeles event markets.
• Willingness to travel regularly to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and industry conferences at an estimated 20–30%.

• Experience in social media, marketing technology, or the creator economy.
• Experience marketing to brand, social, or marketing leaders.
• Existing networks in Bay Area technology and Los Angeles consumer brand or creator communities.
• Familiarity with Slack, Discord, Circle, Luma, Bizzabo, and HubSpot.
• Experience as an early startup hire building a function from zero to one.
