Java Developer with Spring Boot (Payments)

Location: Remote in Colombia, Mexico, LATAM, or Uruguay

hirify.global is delivering a modern digital Payments Platform for a leading airline in Latin America.

What you will do

• Design and develop backend services and REST APIs for a modular Payments Platform using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build clean, testable, and maintainable code using SOLID principles and established design patterns.
• Implement unit, integration, and contract tests to support software quality.
• Apply secure coding practices for payment and customer data, including API security.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and delivery specialists on CI/CD, cloud deployment, scalability, and resilience.
• Monitor production performance, resolve incidents, document solutions, and participate in Agile ceremonies.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional backend development experience with Java.
• Hands-on experience building production services with Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of SOLID principles, common design patterns, REST APIs, SQL, and relational databases.
• Experience with automated unit and integration testing.
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows and CI/CD concepts.
• Fluent Spanish and intermediate English for documentation and international collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with contract testing and PostgreSQL.
• Awareness of API security and secure handling of sensitive data.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, containers, microservices, Google Cloud, or GKE.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems such as Pub/Sub or Kafka.
