Company

hirify.global designs, builds, and operates LEO satellite constellations and provides mission-critical Earth intelligence through integrated spacecraft systems and payload integration.

What you will do

  • Own mechanical design for spacecraft subsystems from requirements and concept through CAD, flight build, integration, testing, and on-orbit verification.
  • Define design and analysis approaches for complex assemblies and make key engineering trade-offs.
  • Lead design reviews and review or approve other engineers’ designs and analyses.
  • Drive hardware integration and testing, troubleshoot build and qualification issues, and perform root-cause resolution during mission operations.
  • Coordinate with structural, thermal, avionics, propulsion, and GNC disciplines to maintain vehicle-level integration.
  • Mentor engineers and improve mechanical design standards, processes, and best practices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience designing, building, and testing high-reliability hardware.
  • B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with CAD, preferably SolidWorks, for medium-to-large assembly design and management.
  • Mastery of drawings, GD&T, BOMs, FAIs, tolerance budgets, and mass budgets.
  • Experience with ECO/DCO processes, PLM systems, complex electromechanical systems, technical documentation, and external vendor management.
  • Must be eligible to access U.S. export-controlled information as a U.S. person, through an exemption, or through likely export authorization.

Nice to have

  • Experience with spacecraft structures, mission integration, deployables, solar arrays, or precision mechanisms.
  • Subsystem ownership across the full lifecycle, including flight heritage or on-orbit hardware.
  • First-order structural or thermal analysis, integration and test, and flight-hardware anomaly resolution.
  • Experience leading design reviews, defining design standards, mentoring engineers, or technically leading a small team.
  • Familiarity with solar-array or electrical and power-system design.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employment with equity compensation.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus a 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Short- and long-term disability and life insurance.
  • Three weeks of paid vacation for new employees, 12 paid holidays, unlimited sick time, and paid parental leave.
  • Equal employment opportunity and reasonable accommodation support for applicants and interview participants.
