Senior Design Engineer (Design Systems)

Location: Remote, United States

Salary: $195,000–$238,000 annually, depending on work location, with equity. Listed salary zones include San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, and Seattle.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the design system across Figma, Storybook, and production code.
• Build, refactor, and maintain reusable, accessible, and documented UI components.
• Reduce design and code drift across component libraries, legacy patterns, and Figma systems.
• Establish patterns, conventions, and guardrails that improve consistency, accessibility, maintainability, and developer experience.
• Prototype interaction patterns and reference implementations in code for complex product decisions.
• Partner with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers on enterprise-grade workflows and UI experiences.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience designing and building production hirify.globalend experiences.
• Strong hirify.globalend engineering skills with modern web technologies and component-based architecture.
• Experience with component libraries, Storybook, visual regression workflows, design-token pipelines, Figma workflows or similar design-engineering infrastructure.
• Strong accessibility fundamentals, including semantic HTML, ARIA, keyboard interactions, focus management, and inclusive component states.
• Strong UI/UX judgment, communication skills, and experience working in a large or mature codebase.
• A portfolio or body of work demonstrating shipped design-engineering impact.

Nice to have

• Experience with complex B2B SaaS, enterprise software, developer tools, workflow-heavy products, or customer operations platforms.
• Experience consolidating fragmented component libraries or aligning Figma libraries with production code.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding or design tools for prototyping, refactoring, and iteration.
