HVAC Service Technician

Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. Field-based work conducted on-site at customer locations, with occasional overnight stays and overtime as required.

Salary: $36.89–$49.92 per hour.

What you will do

• Commission, start up, test, troubleshoot, repair, and service commercial HVAC systems and equipment.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, site surveys, replacements, and system modifications.
• Serve as the primary customer contact, communicate service findings, and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, project managers, and coworkers.
• Coordinate on-site installations and repairs by reviewing building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering materials, and synchronizing work with team leaders and customers.
• Use software, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair HVAC units.
• Maintain strict safety standards and company asset records while working in variable weather, at heights, around moving equipment, and in confined areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience, plus 2–5 years of commercial HVAC experience; technical school education may be considered in combination with experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld computers such as smartphones or iPads.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations, including recent DUI, reckless driving, license suspension, or preventable collisions.
• Ability to safely operate vehicles, use ladders, access rooftops, work in confined spaces, and wear required protective equipment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing for extended periods, climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead, and lifting more than 40 pounds occasionally.

Nice to have

• EPA certification, such as HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, or Gas Installer certification.
