Powertrain Electrical Engineer Intern (Electric Marine Vehicles)

Location: Onsite at the headquarters in Torrance, California, United States

hirify.global is electrifying the marine industry by developing electric powertrains, software, and vessel designs for consumer, commercial, tug, ferry, and defense applications.

What you will do

• Support electrical problem diagnosis, hardware design, prototyping, testing, and high-volume manufacturing.
• Design tools for production end-of-line testing.
• Build and test electrical hardware hands-on.
• Work with the Electrical Engineering team during the summer internship from June 14 through August 20, 2027.

Requirements

• Hands-on circuit-building experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals.
• Basic experience with electrical simulation software such as LTspice or PSpice.
• Basic experience using laboratory equipment, including digital multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt and learn in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-performance electric vehicles, solar cars, Formula SAE, or similar projects.
• FEA experience with any platform.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Python, data analysis and visualization, or CAN-bus devices and networks.
• Interest in boating and clean energy.
