DRAM Hardware Engineer, Systems (DRAM)

Location: Santa Clara, California; primarily in-office work at the Santa Clara office is required

Annual base salary: $217,000–$326,000 USD. The role may also be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

• Define system-level test plans and validation for DIMMs across new and existing products.
• Perform hands-on laboratory characterization of DIMM modules and interfaces, including signal-integrity stress testing and error injection.
• Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab tools to debug memory interfaces, serial buses, and management buses.
• Partner with hardware, software, operations, RAS, diagnostics, and supplier teams to improve DRAM reliability, BIOS alignment, and error-handling strategies.
• Track field and manufacturing statistics across DIMM vendors, report operational and factory data, and drive root-cause analysis of failures.
• Support hardware design reviews, JDM validation reports, and product ownership from initial development through field failure reduction.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in relevant hardware engineering or validation work.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of DRAM, x86 and ARM CPUs, PCIe, system validation, and hardware debugging.
• Experience with fleet-scale hardware fault management and system resilience in the presence of DRAM failures.
• Strong scripting skills with Python, Bash, Linux, or similar environments; proficiency with spreadsheets, SQL, and data visualization.
• Experience with Jira, bug-tracking tools, laboratory debug equipment, and third-party supplier relationships.
